Medical Cards & Doctor Visit Cards
All GMS patients who are attending the practice for the first time must provide a valid medical card or doctor visit card to reception.
Patients with expired or invalid medical cards or doctor visit cards will be required to pay as per our normal schedule of fees, as only costs incurred while cards are valid are covered by the GMS.
Under 8’s & Over 70’s contract
Oakpark Medical Centre have signed up for the Under 8’s and Over 70’s Contracts.Please register on www.gpvisitcard.ie to receive your doctor’s visit card for FREE GP CARE.

Important Notice to patients with Medical / GP Visit Cards
Your medical / GP visit card entitles you to a range of services from your GP which are determined by the HSE. There are however a number of additional services provided which are not covered by the agreement between the HSE and GPs.
The services that are not covered are:
- Minor Surgery
- Phlebotomy Services (Routine Blood Test)
- Warfarin Monitoring
- Dressings
- Travel Vaccinations
- Pre-Employment Medicals
- Insurance medicals/reports
- Medical examinations for legal purposes
- Sports medicals/reports
- Medical report for a Driving License
- Cervical smears (if not covered by Cervical Check)
- Certificates
You must pay the private fee for each of the above services. A list of our fees is available on our website
